Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded in 1901 on the campus of Richmond College (now the University of Richmond) in Richmond, Virginia. The story of its founding by 12 determined men set the stage for the growth and success of one of the country’s premier fraternal organizations. Throughout the decades, the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon have practiced their values and embraced the stated desire of the Founders, “This Fraternity will be different.”
The California Tau chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon is looking to redefine the term fraternity on campus at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. Originally chartered on April 7, 1990, SigEp is on campus at Cal Poly with one goal in mind: Building Balanced Men.
SigEp is dedicated as a valued partner in higher education to compliment a young man's education by delivering a premier student experience in one of the most formative times of his life. As a SigEp, men strengthen their character, build leadership and interpersonal skills and learn to develop healthy, lifelong relationships that are essential to a successful and fulfilling life.
